ARTC’s Junior team is a USATF Track & Field club for kids ages 10-12 focused on general athletic development and learning to train. Junior team members continue to learn fundamentals of running, jumping, sprinting, and throwing, however, at this age more attention is applied to areas of specific interest of the athlete. For instance, athletes drawn to jumps will focus more attention in this area while also continuing to participate and develop the other areas. Our practice schedule changes season to season, but the general layout remains consistent with five ninety-minute sessions weekly. Practices are held at various locations throughout Northwest Arkansas and usually take place on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. LEARNING TO TRAIN
The Junior Team was created to fulfill a needed transition period from the Youth program to what is now the Senior Team. This program is geared toward teaching young athletes the fundamental behaviors and skills necessary to succeed at the Senior Team level. It is a continuation of general skills learned at younger ages with the added component of slightly higher expectations. Essentially, the Junior Team focuses on learning to train, but as with the Youth Team, is also grounded in fundamentals. We believe the stronger the fundamentals, the healthier the athletes will be long term. All ARTC programs are based in educating the athletes and parents, so everyone understands not only WHAT we are doing, but WHY.
INVESTMENT & COMMITMENT
ARTC's Junior Team operates on a 30-day rolling contract, so you are never locked in long term. The team has an annual fee to provide athletes with USATF memberships and ARTC gear, as well as, a monthly coaching fee to cover programming and coaching.
